HPA (High Performance Aeroplanes) training – take the next step in advanced flying
Do you want to fly fast, advanced, high-performance aeroplanes? HPA (High Performance Aeroplanes) theory gives you the knowledge needed to operate aircraft that demand more than standard navigation and handling skills.
We deliver the course as modular theoretical training in accordance with Subpart H, FCL.720.A. It prepares you for the exam and for safely managing power, speed and complex aircraft systems.
Entry requirements
The requirements depend on whether you plan to fly a non-complex or complex high-performance aeroplane in single-pilot operations:
1. HPA training for non-complex high-performance aeroplanes in single-pilot operations
If your goal is to fly fast single-engine aircraft or simpler high-performance designs, you must hold:
- Pilot licence: at least PPL(A),
- Experience: at least 200 total flight hours, including at least 70 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC).
2. HPA training for complex high-performance aeroplanes in single-pilot operations
For pilots aiming to fly advanced, complex aeroplanes, the requirements are higher and include:
- Pilot licence: at least PPL(A),
- Experience: at least 200 total flight hours, including at least 70 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC),
- Ratings: a valid multi-engine aeroplane IR(A).
