The Tecnam P2006T is a light twin-engine training and touring aircraft with a high-wing layout, straight wings and winglets. A single spar runs inside each wing. The flaps are electrically operated, while the ailerons use pushrods.
Power comes from two Rotax 912S3 engines, each producing 75 kW (100 hp). They drive two-blade variable-pitch propellers. Fuel consumption is similar to that of a single-engine Cessna 172, while fuel capacity is 200 litres in two 100-litre tanks. The aircraft has retractable tricycle landing gear, comprising a nose wheel retracting into the nose and two main wheels housed in the central fuselage. The airframe is all-metal and made from aluminium alloys.
The cockpit is at the front, with the passenger cabin behind it. The aircraft can carry four people, including one pilot. The passenger cabin was also designed to improve occupant safety in an accident. Its spacious interior provides a high level of comfort for both crew and passengers.
The cockpit has two pilot seats with three-point harnesses. Two forward-facing passenger seats are positioned behind them. A 350-litre baggage compartment is located behind the passenger cabin.
The standard aircraft has analogue avionics, which can be replaced by a GARMIN G950 or GARMIN G1000 NXi digital suite. The latter is available only on the P2006T Mk II.
