The Bristell B23-915 IFR is a modern two-seat training and touring aircraft certified to EASA CS-23, designed for instrument flight rules (IFR), pilot training and longer cross-country flights. Its design combines a lightweight aluminium airframe with modern Garmin avionics and a turbocharged Rotax engine, delivering strong performance with low operating costs.

Key aircraft features:

  • Engine: Rotax 915 iSc producing 141 hp, with turbocharging and electronic FADEC control.
  • Crew: 2 people in a side-by-side layout.
  • Maximum take-off mass (MTOW): 750 kg.
  • Payload: approximately 272 kg.
  • Fuel capacity: 120 l.
  • Maximum operating altitude: 18 000 ft.
  • Cruising speed: up to approximately 150–157 KTAS, depending on altitude.
  • Rate of climb: approximately 1 260–1 500 ft/min.
  • Economical range: approximately 700 NM.

IFR avionics

Standard equipment includes a modern glass cockpit, including:

  • Garmin G500 TXi,
  • Garmin G3X Touch,
  • Garmin GTN 650Xi GPS/NAV/COM,
  • Garmin GNC 215 NAV/COM,
  • GI 275 as a standby instrument,
  • Garmin GMC 507 autopilot with ESP and a Level button,
  • Flight Stream for transferring flight plans, weather data and traffic information.

The system provides strong situational awareness through Synthetic Vision (SVT), making the aircraft particularly suitable for IFR training.

Operating characteristics

The Bristell B23-915 IFR offers:

  • excellent visibility from the cockpit thanks to extensive glazing,
  • a wide 1.3 m cabin providing a high level of crew comfort,
  • a short take-off run of approximately 176 m,
  • the low fuel consumption characteristic of Rotax engines,
  • a BRS ballistic recovery parachute system for greater safety.

Applications

The aircraft was designed primarily for:

  • training pilots for IFR ratings,
  • commercial hour building,
  • touring and business flights over medium distances,
  • operation at flying clubs and flight training organisations.

The combination of CS-23 certification, modern Garmin avionics and an economical Rotax engine makes the Bristell B23-915 IFR an attractive alternative to conventional training aircraft such as the Cessna 172 or Piper Archer, with lower operating costs and more modern equipment.
